How to Relax & Recharge in Truckee Tahoe
With so many outdoor activities to enjoy in Tahoe during the winter, it’s important to remember to relax
and recharge. We’ve put together a list of some of our favorite ways to relax along with some local businesses that do an amazing job of making us truly unwind. Just like our area’s outdoor activities, you’ll have lots of choices.
Massage at Zenergy
If your muscles need some TLC, a massage at Zenergy Massage and Wellness won’t disappoint. Make an appointment with one of their professionally trained masseuses and get ready to relax. From sports massage to reiki to cranial sacral massage and everything in between, they have just what your body needs to relax and reset. Our favorite winter treat is a Hot Stone massage to warm up and recover after a day of skiing.
Après Ski Hot Tub
Nothing says relaxing après ski like a hot tub! After a day cruising the blues at your favorite Tahoe ski resort, it’s time to soak your aching legs. Assuming Tahoe Estates Group recently helped you buy your dream home complete with a backyard hot tub, grab a towel and your favorite après beverage and relax while watching the snow fall and the alpenglow light up the evening sky.
Snowshoe to Glenshire Pond
We think there’s no better way to clear your mind than to get out into nature. Getting outside is a huge part of why we call North Lake Tahoe home. In the winter, snowshoes allow you to trek into the outdoors to breathe in the fresh air. That might mean a snowshoe out your backdoor or, if you’re a lucky Glenshire or Devonshire home owner, we recommend using the Glenshire Lake Trail for your afternoon stroll. With abundant wildlife, this walk through the wilderness will give you the chance to recharge while spotting birds and other animals along the way.
Word After Word Book & a Cozy Fire
What’s more relaxing than curling up with a book in front of a roaring fire while the snow falls outside? Our favorite spot to pick up a new book is Word After Word Books in downtown Truckee. Swing by the store and the staff will be happy to help you pick a new book. But, if you’re already in front of the fire, you can have one of their curated “book bundles” hand delivered right to your North Tahoe door! You’ll just need to plan ahead a little and contact them with your favorite books and what you like to read and they’ll choose a personalized bundle of books for you. Or, simply go for the “surprise me” bundle option and let the book pros work their magic!
Yoga with Sherry McConkey
Last, but certainly not least, is one of our very favorite ways to relax and recharge. If you haven’t already, it’s time to take a yoga class from local favorite, Sherry McConkey. You can find her teaching “Yoga for Strength” at Palisades Yoga in the heart of the Palisades Tahoe’s village. With her 700 hours of yoga training, she keeps the Olympic Valley’s winter athletes in top ski condition with a combination of strength training and stretching. Start your morning with Sherry’s class and expect to leave feeling energized, strong, and ready for another activity-filled day in Tahoe.
