TEG's Favorite Summer Events

At Tahoe Estates Group, we love our live music and community events. Anytime we  can catch up with a neighbor, ski buddy or a roommate from 20 years ago is what this community is all about. Now that we’re emerging from a long socially distanced year, we are really looking forward to our favorite summer events coming back! With restrictions lifted as of June 15, here are our top 6 events to check out this summer in North Lake Tahoe.

BLUESDAYS AT SQUAW

Every Tuesday (starting July 8) in Squaw Valley, acclaimed blues and bluegrass artists will play in the heart of The Village at Squaw Valley. Bring your own chair and take in the views of KT-22 while you listen to FREE music from 6-8:30pm. The dance crowd LOVES to come out for this event, so if you don’t like to boogie, you’ll have a great time watching everyone bust a move. A bar and food stand is always set up so you can kick back with a cool cocktail and tasty bites.

MUSIC IN THE PARK IN TRUCKEE

Did you know Truckee has a natural amphitheater? Every Wednesday in summer (starting July 7), you’ll be able to pack up the family and head on over to the Truckee Regional Park for free live music from 6:30-8:30pm. Our favorite way to do Wednesday’s is pack up a cooler with a charcuterie board, wine (served in reusable plastic glasses), snacks for the kids, big picnic blanket-- all packed up in the ebike. Hit the Legacy Trail as a family to set up early on the grass and just enjoy a warm Truckee afternoon.

FIRST STREET YOGA IN SQUAW

After a full day at the office, there’s no better way to unwind than with some outdoor yoga. This year, Squaw Valley will be bringing back their free yoga on Wednesday’s from 5-6pm in The Village at Squaw Valley. Afterwards, you can stop by Uncorked and indulge in some wine tasting from boutique California vineyards.

FARMERS MARKETS

We are fortunate to have THREE farmers markets here in North Lake Tahoe. Shop local and seasonal produce, unique cheeses and fresh baked bread every week during summer. We’ve been preparing a fresh summer salad with juicy tomatoes, crisp peaches and sweet basil with our finds at the market. Catch the farmers market in Truckee on Tuesdays and Saturdays and Thursdays in Tahoe City.

TRUCKEE THURSDAYS

Mark your calendar! Everyone's favorite event, Truckee Thursdays, will be happening once a month this summer. Shop from local artisans, sample delicious bites from Food Truck vendors, enjoy live music and mingle with your community! Truckee Thursdays will take place July 15, August 12 and September 9.

SHAKESPEARE AT THE LAKE

There is no other event like Shakespeare at the Lake. The open air amphitheater faces the lake, which allows you to take in a classic Tahoe sunset while you enjoy a theatre performance. While we love the classic Shakespeare performance, don't miss the diverse lineup of fantastic live entertainment like the Reno Philharmonic Orchestra: A Tribute to Ella or The Sierra Nevada Ballet: Giselle. Pack a picnic or purchase food and beverages right at the venue and make a date night out of it!

SUMMER IN LAKE TAHOE IS THE BEST

Nothing beats a Tahoe summer. We’ve got cooler temps than our neighbors in Sacramento and Reno, and with easy access to lakes and rivers (looking at you, Big Blue), you’ll always be able to keep it cool. Pack in all of your favorite outdoor adventures during the day and cap it off with any one of these free events. We hope to see you out and about!
